WHAT IS PONTIFLEX?
Pont is the French word for “bridge,” and we borrowed flex from “flexible.” Put them together and you have flexible bridge. Considering we connect people with brands that they like and want to hear from, it’s a pretty good description of what we are.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Ads served through Pontiflex work exclusively on an opt-in basis. This means that you must explicitly sign up for an advertiser’s offers in order to receive special offers and information from them. Once you do that, your information is encrypted and sent securely to the advertiser. Your information you choose to share is sent only to the advertiser you have opted to hear from and is never resold.
CAN I UNSUBSCRIBE FROM AN ADVERTISER’S EMAIL?
Of course. The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act) establishes requirements for those who send commercial email. The law, which became effective January 1, 2004, covers email whose primary purpose is advertising or promoting a commercial product or service, including content on a website. A "transactional or relationship message" - email that facilitates an agreed-upon transaction or updates a customer in an existing business relationship - may not contain false or misleading routing information, but otherwise is exempt from most provisions of the CAN-SPAM Act. The law says the sender must provide a return email address or another Internet-based response mechanism that allows a recipient to ask the sender not to send future email messages to that email address, and the sender must honor the requests. The law requires that commercial email be identified as an advertisement and include the sender's valid physical postal address.
WHAT DOES PONTIFLEX DO WITH THE INFORMATION I SHARE?
Pontiflex functions as a bridge between consumers and advertisers they want to hear from. Any information collected by Pontiflex is on behalf of advertisers, from whom the consumer has specifically opted in to receive offers.
We may use the data you have submitted via our servers, in aggregate, after anonymizing it, to refine and optimize our system and to learn about traffic and user trends.
Any information submitted via Pontiflex is not sold by Pontiflex to any third party.
WILL MY INFORMATION BE TRANSFERRED SECURELY?
Absolutely. We have implemented processes in strict compliance with industry standards (including security protections, including encryption, firewalls and password protection) to ensure that your data will be transferred securely and will remain confidential and protected.
WHAT ACTIONS CAN I TAKE TO PROTECT MY ONLINE PRIVACY?
Do not submit sensitive personal information to unknown or unfamiliar websites.
Do not reply to spam or unsolicited bulk email; this lets the spammers know that a real person is reading their emails and encourages them to continue.
Always examine the privacy policies of all websites you work with or those to whom you submit your personal information.
